Gentleman

Cuba tanya diri kita sendiri, apa yang kita tahu dan faham mengenai perkataan 'Gentleman'? Adakah ianya adalah satu perkataan yang membezakan lelaki dan perempuan semata-mata (gentleman v ladies) ataupun melambangkan perwatakan lelaki yang baik (budiman)?

Ianya agak menarik kerana perkataan 'gentle' itu bermakna lembut dan jika ambil secara literal, gentleman bermaksud 'lelaki lembut'. Isn't it funny when all guys wanna be gentleman when it means lelaki lembut (makyah, pondan) in Malay? Haha.. XD

Okay, jokes aside, the reason that I write about this post is because, couple days ago I came across this one article that list down behaviors of gentleman that every man should adopt. Besides, I also watched Kingsman on HBO last week in which you might know, it is a classic British gentleman-spy movie. At this point, I can't help it but wanna be a gentleman as well!

So, aku cuba try google image perkataan 'gentleman' and it is disappointing. Result semua menunjukkan lelaki kacak, berjambang dan bersut kemas. Its is such a dissapontment because, obviously I'm not kacak, beard tak nak tumbuh and I dont have much money to buy all those fancy suits. 

 

So, I'm wondering whether it is all about the outfit or more than that? I have to believe that it is more than that, apalah guna berpakaian cantik, kemas, mahal akan tetapi tidak berperwatakan budiman. Kan?

It reminds me of a Blair from the Amazing Race 26 on how he treat his partner on the race. I mean, he is not exactly wear suits, didn't exactly open doors for her, gives his jacket to her or anything but, we can see that he is a pure gentleman by simply, layankan his partner's nags and all. 

He actually teaches me no matter how stressed or annoyed you are to a lady, do not raise your voice, apatah lagi naikkan tangan. We should keep quiet, layankan or talk sarcastically (kalau dah tak tahan sangat) without hurting her feeling. After all being a gentleman, it's the little things that count the most.

For those who had never watched this show, I totally recommend all of you. Its the best reality show! Personally I love season 26 among all of the series and this couple is my favorite. you can watch it here. If you do, remember this couple. For guys, learn from him. And for girls, please don't be like her. But, she's not that bad. haha..

I know, kinda off topic, but we can always learn from things we see. Being a gentleman doesn't require fancy suits, it comes from our own acts. This guy shows me a thing or two on how to be a gentleman from the race. I believe its true because he is not an actor acting to be a gentleman in film or drama.
